On Monday the 26th we visited the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. It’s well done, has lots of information, and pays homage to the creators and greats of rock and roll.

It is music that celebrates the emotional side of life.

Rewarding Failure

If people who got in to financial trouble get bailed out, that would seem to be an invitation to take excessive risk. The irresponsible get reward, while those who behaved responsibly will end up paying for it. Somehow this seems backwards.

Private Jets for Auto Execs

Get out your tin foil hats! Conspiracy theory alert.

The big 3 executives flew in in private jets to beg for money from congress. Not the best public relations, that conspicuous consumption. Perhaps these executives are smarter than we give them credit for. Unless there is significant restructuring, these car companyies will not be competitive. Getting the bailout only postpones this. Then again, this may give them way too much credit. They could just be tone deaf.

Colleges that Change Lives

There’s a book that discusses life changing colleges. It’s true, it can happen to you. I know someone who sent a child to one of the listed institutions and is headed for poverty as a result. Life changing indeed.
